Mom was born in Braz...Mmmm... sounds interesting! <br /><br />Mom was born in Brazil, Dad in Portugal. In 1907, when he was 5, he went to Hawaii by boat. He became a citizen, joined the Army as an Officer (not enlisted), and in WWII got stationed in Brazil, and met my Mother at a dance on Valentines Day 1943. She was 21 years younger than him. They were married by the middle of September the same year. We have a Christmas breakfast/brunch ...Interesting. We have a Christmas breakfast/brunch tradition of chicharron sandwiches with fried sweet potato and lemon juice/red onion 'salsa'.
