It's the strangest thing...

I woke up and the sun looked brighter today.🌞
The air was sweeter, and there was Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee waiting for me, and I felt all my tension leave. It's like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

Then I turned on the TV and I saw a most glorious sight: We have a new President-Elect!

Call me crazy, but I'm so happy that tears are running down my face. My People are safe! My Friends and F/family can live their lives without fear.

People are dancing in the streets of Washington DC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta, and New York to name just a few. Not the crowds of angry protesters of 2016.

I hope and pray that this Joy continues.

  2. Rosa could be caught dancing around the house periodically as well. I am naturally relieved on one level but not as across-the-board optimistic given the sheer number of people who still think the answers to today's problems are best solved by Trumplicans and Trumpism. This isn't going to be smooth sailing on a calm sea for Biden/Harris.

    1. Saturday was the day to celebrate, but I agree with you that it's going to be rough for many reasons, nevermind the Republican Senate. Trump still won't let go,and he seems to be the type who will seek revenge simply for the the sake of revenge.

We are still in the pandemic, and COVID-19 isn't going anywhere. Our (not-so) favorite Senator from Kentucky still looms large (maybe he's deathly ill? He looks like it) and those rabid Trumpsters and Q-Anon people aren't likely to give up easily either.

Either way, Saturday is over, and while it felt really good, now we have to endure the rest of Trump's term, and Biden/Harris have their work cut out for them.

My pre-election dread has been has morphed into post-election worry. I've been prescribed Ativan, and I'm not afraid to take it when I start to feel overwhelmed.

This is all having an effect on me, and the lack of physical touch (I'm a hugger, and so were my friends) really gets to me. This whole thing has lasted MUCH LONGER than I expected and could have imagined, and there have been more than a few times where I have held back.

Anyway, plenty of work. I'm sure that they are up to the task. I'm just going to hang on as best as I can in the meantime. ❤️

    2. The one GOOD thing I can share about McConnell is the following:

Even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said he has been avoiding the White House since August “because my impression was their approach to how to handle this was different from mine and what I insisted that we do in the Senate, which is to wear a mask and practice social distancing,”

For that one thing, I do have some respect for him.
